October 25th 1929 - Beginning of Great Depression

October 25th 1929: On "Black Friday", the crash of New York Stock Exchange, the world economic crisis began. It was triggered by misguided stock market speculations and panic selling, which resulted in a U.S. loss totaling billions. Soon the effects were felt in Europe. Through the international integration of economic and financial transactions, the number of company closures rose dramatically. The results were increasing unemployment and mass poverty. With over 6 million people unemployed in 1932, Germany held a sad record and in percentage terms even surpassed the United States. (Missing)
