March 8th – International World Womens Day

March 8th: International Womens Day - proclaimed in 1921 by the Second Women's Conference in Communist Moscow largely due to the initiative of the socialist politician and feminist Clara Zetkin. She called for women to have general election rights and the right to vote equality in the workplace appropriate parent and child protection laws and a statutory minimum wage. Having women work in male dominated workplaces were already a reality then. War and economic constraints made the integration of women necessary and played a decisive role for emancipation. Today International Women's Day is an institution. Called into existence as a proletarian movement today used in many countries to bring awareness to the discrimination of fellow foreign female citizens to protect same-sex relations and to promote the international approximation of women's rights just to name a few.
