September 10th 1926 - Germany joins the League of Nations

September 10th 1926: Germany is admitted into the League of Nations. With Foreign Minister Gustav Stresemann leading the German delegation, the welcome of the Assembly of the League of Nations in Geneva is warm and friendly. Germany returns back into the international circle of nations. Its isolation after the defeat of the First World War comes to an end. This development was prepared by the foreign ministers of France and Germany, Aristide Briand and Gustav Stresemann. Gustav Stresemann connected a political intention with the admission into the League of Nations. It was to have an easier argument on the international stage, for a revision of the Versailles Treaty in favor of Germany.
